Pathology Associate(9978)

Overview To provide various anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of a Pathologist. Job responsibilities • Gross examination and dissection of anatomic pathology specimens • Prepare tissue for numerous pathological tests including frozen section, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemical staining. • Photo gross specimens • Provide fresh tissue to tissue repository and research projects • Assist pathology residents in grossing specimens • Support frozen section duties at satellite laboratories as required • Operate digital whole slide image scanner • Assist in specimen accessioning, cassette printing, specimen handling and fixation prior to grossing. • Assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment. • Assist in specimen storage/disposal • Participate in Quality Assurance / Process Improvement activities. • Assist in other laboratory sections as required • Any other duties as required by the laboratory. Job Requirements • Medically qualified doctors with postgraduate training in anatomic pathology • Degree in Biomedical Sciences or related field • Preferably experience in grossing pathology specimens. • Willing to work under the direction and supervision of pathologists • Willing to work with other laboratory staff for the efficient and effective operation of the anatomic pathology service.
