Pilot Plant Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a Pilot Plant Engineer to support process development, pilot plant operations, and scale-up activities. The role involves hands-on operation of pilot equipment, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful process transfer to production. Responsibilities • Operate and monitor pilot plant equipment such as reactors, filtration systems, and distillation units to support process development • Conduct pilot-scale trials to optimize processes and validate scale-up feasibility • Scale up laboratory processes to pilot and pre-production levels to enable manufacturing readiness • Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports with actionable recommendations for process improvements • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues promptly to maintain smooth pilot plant operations • Coordinate maintenance, calibration, and commissioning activities for pilot plant equipment to ensure reliability • Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment • Participate in risk assessments including RA and HAZOP to identify and mitigate process hazards • Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to drive process improvement initiatives and knowledge transfer • Maintain accurate documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and records for audit and regulatory compliance Required competencies and certifications • Degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline Preferred competencies and qualifications • Preferably 7 - 10 years of relevant experience in pilot plant, process engineering, or manufacturing environment • Knowledge of process scale-up, equipment operation, and process optimization • Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
