Project Engineer (Shipbuilding)

• Understand the project execution strategy fully and ensure programme is on track and executed accordingly. • Setting the project or programme up for success by ensuring fit-for-purpose Project/Programme Management processes and standards and ensuring delivery excellence in all aspects of project delivery. • Manage and oversee day-to-day construction management of project • Monitor and report to Senior / Project Manager of project progress versus baseline, including issues and risks in a timely manner • Conduct VSCC and take charge of ship work safety and cleanliness • Liaise with trades on the activities and construction effort needed to achieve progress safely, within schedule and budget • Plan, develop and organize the construction effort to formulate the most cost-effective plan to support schedule and cost • Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented • Review man hours and duration forecasts to completion and resource requirements • Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance • Manage schedule, cost-to-completion (CTC) and POC together with Senior / Project Manager • Conduct progress meetings to manage issues • Responsible for planning, scheduling and costing • Support in project tender when called upon or any other adhoc project duties as required • Handle warranty issues • Manage customer expectations at site and maintain good customer relationships
