Quality Engineer (QA & Test Automation)

Role OverviewWe are partnering with our client to hire an experienced Quality Engineer to ensure system quality, reliability, and performance across the software development lifecycle. This role focuses on end-to-end testing, automation, and platform stability, supporting both legacy systems and modern cloud-based applications as part of an ongoing transformation journey. Employment Type: 1-Year Contract Key Responsibilities• Design and execute comprehensive test strategies across the software development lifecycle • Develop, maintain, and execute both automated and manual test cases • Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing • Manage defects, test artefacts, and quality reporting • Support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to define clear acceptance criteria • Ensure adequate test coverage, traceability, and quality standards • Build, enhance, and maintain automated testing frameworks • Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous quality assurance • Monitor application performance, reliability, and system stability • Support basic environment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting • Contribute to improving testing methodologies and team processes • Maintain clear and structured documentation for test plans and results Technology LandscapeYou will be working within a transformation environment: • Current Environment: Sybase databases, Java-based applications • Target Environment: Microsoft Azure (GCC), Azure SQL, .NET-based applications This role offers exposure to modern QA practices within cloud transformation projects. Required Skills & Experience• Minimum 7 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering • Strong hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing • Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure) • Experience with performance and security testing • Exposure to infrastructure, platform operations, or environment management • Familiarity with containerisation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools is an advantage • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills • Good communication and collaboration abilities All information will be kept strictly confidential.
