About this role
Our client a leading global technology company operating one of the world’s largest digital platforms, is looking for an experienced environmental professional to lead environmental due diligence, permitting, and regulatory compliance activities for large-scale network infrastructure projects across the APAC region. This is a 1-year contract. Responsibilities • Lead environmental permitting and regulatory compliance activities for network infrastructure and construction projects across APAC. • Oversee Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and ensure compliance with regional regulations, international standards, and relevant environmental conventions. • Support environmental due diligence efforts throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage assessments to construction and operational phases. • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate environmental risks associated with terrestrial and subsea network infrastructure projects. • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and timely approvals. • Review environmental studies, technical reports, and permitting documentation, providing guidance and recommendations to project teams. • Monitor compliance obligations and ensure adherence to permit conditions and environmental commitments. • Communicate environmental requirements and project risks effectively across cross-functional teams, including design, construction, operations, and EHS teams. • Develop environmental training materials, awareness initiatives, and best practices to support continuous improvement across the organization. • Contribute to the growth and enhancement of the company’s environmental management programs and sustainability initiatives. Requirements • 12+ years of professional experience in environmental permitting, compliance, or environmental management. • Strong experience managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and pre-development environmental studies within the APAC region. • Solid understanding of environmental regulations and permitting frameworks related to infrastructure or construction projects. • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Planning, or a related discipline. • Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating with diverse stakeholders across regional teams. • Experience supporting fiber optic, telecommunications, or subsea cable infrastructure projects will be a plus. • Familiarity with marine and coastal ecosystems and related environmental considerations will be a plus. • Experience managing environmental and regulatory risks within joint venture or multi-partner infrastructure projects will be a plus.
