Job DescriptionThe National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for “Therapeutic potential of pro-resolving mediators and their resolution mechanisms” in the Department of Pharmacology, Immunology Translational Research Programme, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Appointments will be made on a 1-year contract basis, with the possibility of extending it for 2 years. Purpose of the post The research assistant (RA) will be responsible for working closely with the Principal Investigator and HY Peh Resolution of Inflammation (HYPRI) laboratory members to ensure the successful completion of the S-PRESTO cohort samples on time. This position will be based in the Center for Life Sciences, in the Immunology Program and Singapore Lipidomics Incubator (SLING), Life Sciences Institute, National University of Singapore. The RA’s principal role will be to work in sample processing using LC-MS/MS, data collection and analysis, and facilitating laboratory orders. Main duties and responsibilities The RA will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI). The RA will be able to: • Be trained in the HYPRI targeted lipidomics platform; • Undertake the day to day running of the project to extract lipids and complete all of the cohort samples; • Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as organizing regular meetings to maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborators; • Conduct literature searches, using R and/or GraphPad to analyze and present data, as well as assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project; • Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures; • Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI. QualificationsThe applicant should: • Have a B.Sc. or related disciplines with good results; • be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail; • have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. GraphPad, MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), R.
