About this role
Job Description We are a fast-moving translational research lab driven by the need to develop curative therapies for chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) and Asian-specific solid tumours including nasopharyngeal cancer. Our team combines leading-edge multi-omics single-cell profiling with AI/ML-guided discovery to uncover new mechanisms of targeted drug resistance, then rigorously validates these findings using state-of-the-art platforms including iPSC-based technologies, advanced in vitro systems, and in vivo models. Our current work spans global clinical biomarker studies to predict drug resistance at diagnosis, and next-generation therapeutic strategies to eliminate persistent leukaemia stem cells (LSCs) in minimal residual disease and prevent disease transformation- ranging from NK cell-based approaches to small molecule-targeting of high-risk epigenetic cell states we have identified. • Independently carry out the design and execution of experimental research required by the research component of the project. • Design and execute experiments, ensuring high-quality and reproducible outcomes. • Translate research findings into publications, presentations, and new research directions. • Develop plans for independent research which could have a considerable influence and impact on the relevant field attracting research funding. • Provide support for external grant/protocol development, study design and management of research activities. • Provide guidance and mentorship to undergraduate students / research assistants, contributing to team development and scientific direction. • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein. Job Requirements • PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (or equivalent postgraduate degree with strong research track record). • Strong laboratory experimental experience; ability to work independently and rigorously. • Experience with iPSC-based platforms, multi-colour flow cytometry, and mouse models. • Solid grounding in the scientific context of the research area and confidence supporting diverse research activities. • Proven publication track record (including high-impact outputs). • Demonstrated and growing research independence, with initiative and ambition to build new directions. • Excellent scientific writing, critical thinking, communication, and presentation skills. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
