About this role
The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at Nanyang Technological University is a leading academic unit in physics, mathematics, chemistry and related interdisciplinary fields. The key objective is to support efforts to advance fundamental and high-impact research. For more details, please view http://www.ntu.edu.sg/spms. Join the laboratory of Shilei Ding at SPMS. We are seeking a research fellow to conduct high-impact research on orbital current driven domain wall motion. The role will focus on thin-film deposition and onchip device fabrication, combined with electrical transport measurements to investigate how orbital currents transfer angular momentum to local magnetization and drive magnetic textures. Key Responsibilities: • Depositing high quality magnetic thin films • Performing structural and magnetic characterization • Fabricating devices using lithography techniques • Conducting high-field low-temperature electrical transport measurements • Publish research results in high-impact peer-reviewed journals • Mentoring PhD, Masters, and undergraduate students Job Requirements: • PhD in Physics or a closely related field • Strong background in experimental condensed matter or material physics, with experience in thin-film deposition, device fabrication, and electrical transport measurements • Familiarity with the theory of magnetism • Proficiency in MATLAB/Python and LabVIEW for data acquisition and analysis • Good written and oral communication skills • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment • Experience working with and mentoring PhD, Master, and undergraduate students • Ability to provide regular progress reports to the PI • Ability to contribute to the development of research proposals for external funding based on project outcomes We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
