About this role
National Centre for Advanced Integrated Photonics (NCAIP) is a Mid-Sized Centre funded by the National Research Foundation. The key objective is to support efforts to develop new photonics technologies that can be translated to the semiconductor industry. Terahertz frequencies are considered as the next frontier for high-speed communication due to availability of huge bandwidth. The candidate should be actively involved in developing low-loss photonic devices and interconnects (waveguide, antenna) for high-speed communications. He/she should make regular progress report to PI. Key Responsibilities: • Conducting literature review • Carrying out research related activities assigned by Principal Investigator • Disseminating the outcomes of research in peer-reviewed journals • Perform simulation and extensive analysis for device material integration development and optimization. • Conduct THz material and photonics characterization experiments. Requirements: • PhD in Applied Physics, or Electronics and Communication or stream associated with THz/MM-wave materials. • R&D ability and experience in terahertz photonics and high-speed communications, • Good communication skills with strong aptitude to lead and manage terahertz translational research works. • Experience in using FDTD, MATLAB, and COMSOL multiphysics software platforms. • Understanding of fundamental principles photonic devices and systems. • Familiar with the modeling and testing of material integrated based devices. We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
