Job SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions for our SME business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting management with financial insights for business decision-making. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, multitask effectively, and contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced SME environment. Key Responsibilities• Handle full-set accounts including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and bank reconciliations. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities. • Monitor cash flow and company expenses. • Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules. • Prepare management reports and financial analysis. • Support budgeting and forecasting activities (if required). • Analyze variances and provide recommendations to management. • Assist management in financial planning and cost control initiatives (if required). • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. • Prepare GST filings and statutory submissions. • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and government authorities. • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents. • Support internal controls and improve accounting processes. • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records. • Participate in ERP/accounting system improvements and implementation. Team Support• Guide and supervise junior accounting staff or accounts assistants. • Work closely with other departments on finance-related matters. Scope of WorkThe Senior Accountant will oversee: • Full-set accounting for the company • Financial reporting and management reporting • Tax and statutory compliance • Audit coordination • Finance process improvements • Support for daily finance and operational activities Qualifications• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline • ACCA, CPA, or equivalent qualification is an advantage Experience• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a company • SME experience preferred • Experience handling full-set accounts independently Skills & Competencies• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel • Strong understanding of accounting standards and local tax regulations • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Independent, responsible, and able to meet deadlines • Able to work in a fast-paced SME environment Working Hours & Environment• Full-time/Contract position • SME working environment with multi-tasking responsibilities • Mon-Fri, 8am to 6pm • Transport to and fro provided from Lakeside MRT
