ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Formulation of procurement strategy, advise on form of contract, preparation of tender documentations in particularly contractual provisions, carry out pre-qualification, administration of tender process, evaluation of tender submissions and preparation of tender recommendation report. • To work closely with the project teams and provide contractual advice, draft of contractual correspondences, review variation claims, extension of time claims and loss & expense claims, prepare and maintain project contractual risk register. • Support negotiations of claims, manage contractual changes and resolve disputes or conflict resolution with contractors. • Continuous monitoring and reviews of the legal developments in the construction industry and provides regular updates to the project teams. REQUIREMENTS • Recognised Degree in Legal and/or Quantity Surveying with good understanding of the construction process. • Preferably possess at least 5 - 10 years experience in a QS consulting environment, preferably with experience in infrastructure, container port, marine terminals or coastal development projects. • Must be well versed with the Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract and various types of Contract Conditions. • Has good writing and communication skills and strong negotiation and mediation skills. • Must have excellent analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. • Possesses superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts. • Resourceful and able to work independently and is a good team player as well. • Possess excellent people skills with the ability to integrate within a multi-disciplinary team. • Willing to travel overseas as and when required for handling of overseas projects.
