Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Facilities & Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of shipyard facilities, infrastructure, and operational equipment. This role will be responsible for leading maintenance operations, managing facility upgrades, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and supporting overall yard operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong experience in industrial facilities, heavy equipment maintenance, asset management, and contractor coordination within shipyard, marine, or large-scale industrial environments. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement preventive and planned maintenance programs for shipyard facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. • Lead and supervise maintenance personnel to ensure timely execution of maintenance activities and operational readiness of critical assets. • Oversee the upkeep and servicing of heavy equipment, cranes, material handling systems, vehicles, and workshop machinery. • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in accordance with quality management and ISO requirements. • Ensure workshops, office facilities, docking areas, slipways, piers, and operational infrastructure remain safe, functional, and compliant with regulatory standards. • Collaborate with operational teams to provide facility and equipment support for day-to-day shipyard activities. • Manage facility enhancement, infrastructure improvement, and maintenance projects to ensure delivery within approved timelines and budgets. • Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets, equipment replacement plans, and capital expenditure proposals. • Evaluate and approve equipment, tools, and machinery used by subcontractors operating within the yard. • Coordinate and supervise external contractors engaged in maintenance, infrastructure development, and facility improvement works. • Ensure proper management and disposal of hazardous materials and industrial waste in compliance with local environmental regulations. • Monitor company assets and provide recommendations for asset acquisition, replacement, disposal, and lifecycle management. • Manage equipment rental requirements and ensure effective utilization of resources supporting yard operations. • Prepare periodic maintenance and facility performance reports for management review. • Act as the focal point for facility-related issues, ensuring timely investigation, corrective actions, and resolution of reported defects. • Participate in environmental, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing shipyard operations. Requirements • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience managing facilities, maintenance operations, or industrial assets within shipyard, marine, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments. • Proven experience in preventive maintenance planning, asset management, and contractor supervision. • Familiarity with ISO standards, maintenance documentation, and compliance requirements. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. • Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving capabilities. • Experience managing heavy equipment, cranes, industrial machinery, and facility infrastructure will be advantageous. • Ability to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia is beneficial due to stakeholder coordination requirements. • Willingness to be based full-time in Batam, Indonesia.
