Job Summary You will be supporting a well-established client in the public and financial sector. You will be working on a replatform project with a team of software engineers to strengthen application delivery, architecture integrity, and operational resilience. Your main scope of work will focus on focused on solution architecture, system integration, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). Responsibilities • Maintain comprehensive system architecture with deep understanding of integration patterns and dependencies across the technology stack • Design and implement robust monitoring frameworks, intelligent alerting systems, and streamlined incident response procedures to ensure operational excellence • Develop and maintain detailed architectural documentation • Setup, configure and integrate application with middleware components as per the architecture documentation • Partner with infrastructure teams to implement security hardening measures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards • Design and execute comprehensive application security testing protocols and vulnerability assessment procedures, ensuring full alignment with internal framework requirements and organisational processes • Conduct systematic security reviews, coordinate penetration testing initiatives, and perform thorough threat analysis including risk assessments of identified vulnerabilities and security findings • Define meaningful SLOs and SLIs, implementing automated monitoring and measurement systems to track service reliability and performance • Proactively monitor system health through advanced observability tools and execute comprehensive daily operational health assessments • Build system resilience through chaos engineering practices, comprehensive disaster recovery planning, and continuous performance optimisation initiatives • Maintain production system stability through participation in on-call rotations, providing expert-level support and rapid incident resolution Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent • 5+ years of experience in payments/securities settlement systems, application support & operations, application security, SRE, or solution architecture • Strong knowledge of software security principles, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing methodologies • Experience in enterprise architecture, system integration, and solution engineering • Proficient in application testing, assessment, and continuous improvement • Familiarity with ICT governance standards and best practices, especially within government environments • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience driving digitalisation and process improvements • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills • Hands-on experience with Java, SQL, shell scripting, microservices, REST APIs, and integration technologies • Experience with RHEL, JBOSS EAP, OpenShift/OpenStack, Oracle Database, CI/CD, observability tools (Grafana, ELK), and fault-tolerant infrastructure • Knowledge of cloud platforms, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), file transfer protocols (SFTP, MQ, REST), and job scheduling tools • Advantageous experience in SWIFT messaging, banking/finance systems, government digital projects, and transactional systems support • Relevant certifications (e.g. Java, AWS, Kubernetes) are a plus • Independent, organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple high-pressure workstreams effectively If you are interested in this role and would like to discuss the opportunity further please click apply now or email Chew Kai-Xinn at kaixinnchew@morganmckinley.com for more information.
