About this role
The Student Well-Being Executive (SWBE) plays a key role in fostering a caring, safe, and enabling school environment. The role focuses on supporting students’ social-emotional development, managing student discipline matters, and strengthening collaboration between school and home to ensure positive student outcomes. Job Scope: The SWBE shall report to the school’s Head of Department of Student Development & School Leaders. The SWBE will work closely with students, school staff, and external agencies to provide timely and structured support for students, with the aim of promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive school culture. 1. Student Well-Being & Environment • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture that prioritises student well-being. • Assist in identifying, supporting and monitoring at risk students with social, emotional or behavioural attendance concerns. • Provide social, emotional and basic academic support as part of re-integration for students returning to school after long-term absences. • Support daily student engagement during school hours to reinforce positive behaviour, orderliness, and a caring school environment. • Conduct regular walkabouts to observe student behaviour, build rapport, and provide informal mentoring where appropriate. • Engage in regular patrolling outside school area to ensure safety and discipline of the students to infuse positive community culture. • Engage and manage students during recess, lunch and after-school hours daily to help maintain noise level, orderliness and discipline at all times. 2. Life Skills Development • Develop and curate resources to support life skills education, including emotional regulation, resilience, communication, and decision-making. • Plan, coordinate, conduct and support targeted life skills programmes for identified groups of students including monitoring of attendance and students’ progress. • Evaluate the effectiveness of programmes and refine materials based on student needs and outcomes. 3. Student Discipline & Case Management • Assist in the management and follow-up of student discipline cases in a fair, consistent, and professional manner. • Conduct preliminary investigations into discipline-related matters and support documentation of cases. • Maintain accurate case notes and records in accordance with school policies and confidentiality requirements. 4. Restorative Practices & Student Intervention • Facilitate restorative conversations and mediation sessions between students involved in conflicts. • Support students in reflecting on their behaviour and taking responsibility for their actions. • Work with school staff to design and implement follow-up interventions that support positive behavioural change. 5. Stakeholder Collaboration • Serve as a key liaison between parents, teachers, and school leaders in managing student welfare and discipline matters. • Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to develop coordinated support strategies for students. • Provide updates and inputs to school leaders on student cases and intervention progress. • Provide school support for student programmes, interventions, and parent engagement where required. 6. Other Duties and Responsibilities • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the school. Requirements: • The personnel deployed should preferably possess a Diploma in Care and Programme (Student Services & Coaching), or other related disciplines and equivalent qualification from a recognised educational institution. • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in areas such as student management, youth engagement, school-based support services, counselling or mentoring programmes, and behavioural intervention programmes. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to manage sensitive student matters professionally and confidentially • Calm and firm disposition in handling discipline matters • Good documentation and case management skills • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and parents • Able to engage students positively and build rapport Contract Period: 10-months (Jul 2026 to May 2027) Working Arrangement: Mondays to Thursdays: 7.30 am to 4.30pm Fridays: 7.30 am to 4.00pm Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays and for the month of December 2026 and June 2027.
