Youth Worker — (Yishun) Contract Role | 18 Months | Start July 2026 We are looking for a committed and experienced Youth Worker to support student management at a secondary school in Yishun. This is a contract role deployed through The Talent People Pte. Ltd. About the Role You will serve as the first point of contact for student behavioural incidents, working within the school's restorative practice framework. The focus is on building genuine relationships with students, supporting early intervention, and helping the Student Management Committee respond effectively to behavioural challenges. Key Responsibilities • Act as first responder for behavioural incidents during curriculum time; conduct initial fact-finding and guide students through incident report writing • Implement de-escalation strategies and determine appropriate responses in consultation with the Student Management Committee • Facilitate restorative conversations and mediate conflicts following incidents • Support students in understanding the impact of their actions on the school community • Conduct proactive outreach to at-risk students (first/second-time vapers, students with recurring incident reports, students displaying disruptive behaviour) • Maintain accurate records of all interventions, restorative processes and student interactions in compliance with privacy requirements • Build trust and rapport with students through regular engagement What You Are Not Doing: This role does not involve formal counselling or therapy. You support — you do not replace — the school counsellor or formal disciplinary processes. Working Hours • Mon, Tue, Thu: 8:30am – 5:30pm • Wed: 8:30am – 3:00pm • Fri & selected school holiday days: 8:00am – 12:30pm • Off on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays Requirements • Minimum 2 years of experience in youth work (mandatory) • Prior experience working with secondary school students preferred • Preferably holds a qualification in Counselling, Educational Psychology, Social Work, or a related field in social and emotional learning • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Genuine interest in working with youths from diverse backgrounds and ability to build rapport quickly Salary: S$2,800 – S$3,400/month (based on experience and qualifications) Location: Yishun (school campus) Start Date: 1 July 2026 This position is sourced by The Talent People Pte.
