Job Summary The Basketball Referee In-Charge leads on-ground basketball officiating operations for school competitions, coordinating technical officials and stakeholders to ensure professional, impartial, and consistent match management from 2027 to 2029. Responsibilities • Lead on-ground operations for assigned basketball competition matches to ensure smooth and professional conduct • Coordinate with referees, table officials, organisers, schools, coaches, and stakeholders to align match-day activities • Manage deployment logistics to ensure technical officials attend matches punctually and are properly attired • Provide clear guidance to officials on match procedures, rules interpretation, and operational standards • Resolve on-ground officiating issues and disputes promptly and professionally to maintain match integrity • Uphold impartiality and consistent application of basketball rules and officiating standards during matches • Attend all required briefing sessions before competition seasons to stay updated on procedures and expectations • Support accurate submission and verification of deployment details to maintain operational records • Escalate operational concerns such as absences, replacements, or match-day issues to relevant authorities promptly Required competencies and certifications • Possess Basketball Association of Singapore certification or equivalent officiating certification • Demonstrate prior experience officiating basketball competitions, preferably NSG or equivalent school-level matches • Exhibit strong knowledge of current basketball rules, NSG requirements, and FIBA rules • Maintain professional conduct with no conflicts of interest involving participating schools or teams • Have a clean disciplinary record with no ongoing investigations by relevant authorities or associations • Commit to competition schedules, including weekday daytime assignments, and report at least 15 minutes before match start • Demonstrate leadership, coordination, and clear communication skills with technical officials and stakeholders • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, impartiality, and composure under pressure Preferred competencies and qualifications • Experience officiating knockout, semi-final, final, NBL, regional, or international-level basketball matches Other Information Location Islandwide, Singapore at sports halls, schools, universities, tertiary institutions, or other assigned competition venues Working Hours Based on assigned match schedules; competition periods may vary by division and year Salary / Rate To be confirmed based on assignment, deployment volume, and project requirements
