Devops Engineer - Contract

About the Role As a DevOps Engineer, you will be at the forefront of building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure. Applying deep expertise in continuous integration, delivery, and deployment, cloud technologies, container orchestration, and security, you will shape the systems that power our engineering organisation. You are expected to operate as a subject matter expert — leading by influence, collaborating across multiple teams, and driving key architectural decisions. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and test end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, ensuring robust and reliable software delivery. • Develop and optimize infrastructure automation to enhance deployment efficiency and reliability. • Ensure systems remain secure against potential threats by continuously evaluating and hardening the security posture. • Analyze system performance and security metrics to proactively identify and resolve potential issues. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development and operational goals for seamless delivery. • Support and guide team members by sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and tools to elevate overall project quality. . Engage with multiple teams, take responsibility for team decisions, and provide solutions to problems within and across teams. Core Technical Skills • Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery / Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline design and management • Cloud infrastructure management, with a focus on AWS services and operations • Container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi • Security best practices within a DevSecOps framework, including vulnerability scanning and compliance automation • Monitoring, logging, and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK Stack) • Scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar) What We're Looking For • A collaborative team player who can also lead — guiding peers while influencing upward and across teams. • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to diagnose complex infrastructure and security issues. • Excellent communication skills, comfortable translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. • A continuous improvement mindset — always looking for ways to automate, optimise, and simplify. • Proven experience owning and delivering end-to-end infrastructure and deployment projects.
