About this role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join St Francis Methodist School (International), delivering high-quality English instruction within the Cambridge Primary Programme (Year 1–6). The successful candidate will play a key role in building strong literacy foundations and preparing students for the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint assessments in Year 6,which track student progress and readiness for secondary education. Key responsibilities: Teaching & Learning • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Cambridge Primary English curriculum • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students • Foster inquiry-based learning and critical thinking through engaging classroom practices • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulatingclassroom environment that promotes curiosity and confidence in language use, strong classroom management skills • Integrate technology and multimedia tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences • Contribute to the development and enhancement of teaching resources and curriculum materials • Support after-school enrichment programmes and school events • Undertake administrative duties related to teaching, assessment and reporting Student Development & Well-being • Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative assessments • Maintain accurate records of academic performance, behaviour and development • Provide constructive feedback, set learning goals and support individual student growth • Promote positive behaviour through clear expectations and reinforcement strategies • Provide pastoral care, ensuring students’ emotional well-being, safety and sense of belonging Collaboration & Communication • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes • Participate actively in professional learning communities, meetings and school initiatives • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, development and well-being Job Requirement • Bachelor’s Degree in English or a related field; recognizing teaching certification (eg MOE-recognised) preferred. • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching Primary English within Cambridge or MOE frameworks. • Familiarity with the Cambridge Primary curriculum, Checkpoint framework, and EAL/ESL support strategies. • Ability to design lessons focusing on literacy, critical thinking, and differentiated instruction for diverse learners. • Proficient in tracking student progression and using assessments to drive academic success. • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders. • Willingness to lead co-curricular activities(CCAs) and contribute to school-wide development initiatives.
