About this role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join St Francis Methodist School (International), delivering high-quality Music instruction within the Cambridge Primary Programme (Year 1–6). The successful candidate will play a key role in nurturing students’ musical abilities, creativity, and appreciation for the arts, while contributing to their holistic development within a vibrant and caring school environment. Key Responsibilities: Teaching & Learning • Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based music lessons aligned with Cambridge Primary Music learning outcomes • Cultivate a joy of music through meaningful, enjoyable and student-centred learning experiences • Develop students’ musical knowledge, skills and attitudes through singing, playing instruments, composing and listening • Encourage collaboration through group performances, ensemble work and shared musical experiences • Nurture both individual and collective creativity through improvisation, composition, and exploration • Differentiate instruction to support diverse abilities and learning styles • Integrate music technology and multimedia tools to enhance creativity and engagement Student Development & Well-being • Monitor and assess students’ musical development using a range of formative and summative strategies • Provide constructive feedback to support growth in musical understanding and performance • Build students’ confidence in expressing themselves through music • Promote positive behaviour, teamwork and respect within collaborative settings • Support students’ emotional well-being through inclusive and creative classroom practices Collaboration & Communication • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music across the curriculum where appropriate • Contribute to a strong sense of community through involvement in school events and activities • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, development and well-being Job Requirement • Bachelor’s Degree in Music or a relevant field; MOE-recognised teaching certification or equivalent preferred. • At least 2 years of experience teaching Primary Music, preferably within Cambridge or MOE curriculum frameworks. • Proficiency in instrumental skills or vocal training; experience leading choirs, ensembles, or performance-based programs is an advantage. • Ability to design and deliver engaging lessons that foster musical creativity, performance skills, and artistic appreciation. • To manage diverse classrooms and implement differentiated instruction to support various learning backgrounds. • Skilled in using practical and theoretical assessments to track and support student progress in Music. • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues. • Commitment to character development and values-driven education, fostering a supportive and "happy" learning environment. • Willingness to lead performing arts CCAs (choir, concerts) and collaborate on school-wide initiatives and events.
