About this role
As a GIS Supervisor, you will play a key role in managing the installation, testing & commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) installations ranging from 72.5kV to 500kV by ensuring compliance with quality, safety and contractual standards. This role demands leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to operate in multicultural and high-risk environments, including substations, offshore platforms and wind modules. Responsibilities · Supervise multicultural construction sites worldwide for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) installations · Ensure timely and compliant execution of installation, testing & commissioning activities · Maintain high standards of quality through inspection, documentation, and skill assessment of local and subcontracted labor · Coordinate labor resources effectively and maintain cost control on-site · Provide weekly progress reports to the site coordinator and project manager, highlighting status, risks, and needs · Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety (EHS), and internal management system regulations · Represent the company in client and contractor communications, resolving site-level issues diplomatically and professionally Qualifications / Background · Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering · Minimum 10 years' experience in Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) installation, testing, engineering & commissioning is required · Completed site training/certification at GE Vernova Switzerland and DILO in Babenhausen, Germany is required · Flexible, resilient, and a collaborative team player with a problem-solving mindset · Willingness to travel internationally up to 90%, including offshore platforms and wind modules (Must have relevant certificates for offshore) · Strong leadership and negotiation skills with the ability to manage diverse teams under pressure.
