As an Internal Audit, Associate, Senior Auditor in the Asia Pacific Corporate Functions Audit Team, you will lead and participate in audit engagements focused on Global and APAC Risk Management and Compliance processes and controls across multiple business lines and asset classes. Job responsibilities • Lead and support the execution of Risk Management and Compliance audits within the Global and APAC Corporate Functions Internal Audit Plan, ensuring comprehensive coverage across business lines and legal entities. Plan, execute, and perform data-driven audit activities independently, maintaining high standards and adherence to professional practices. • Analyze risks, identify root causes, and provide recommendations for improvement. Communicate audit findings and opinions on control effectiveness clearly and concisely to management and stakeholders. • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting transparency and open dialogue. Collaborate with other audit teams to ensure early identification and reporting of emerging control issues. • Stay current on industry, regulatory, accounting, and technology developments, sharing best practices with the team. • Monitor and review learning and development opportunities, influencing training agendas for the team. • Participate in business initiatives to support department and firm objectives, promoting engagement and inclusion. • Promote an inclusive and diverse work environment, encouraging questions, advice-seeking, and continuous learning. • Escalate issues to leadership with urgency and clarity. • The role may also require applicants to support other Corporate Functions audits from time to time. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills • 6 years of audit or relevant risk, markets, compliance, regulatory experience in an international banking environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. • Demonstrable knowledge of risk monitoring and management, including credit, market and liquidity risk metrics and stress testing, as well as operational and model risk. • Strong data analytics capability with experience using tools/languages such as Excel (advanced), SQL, Python, Alteryx or similar, including data extraction, transformation, validation, and analytical testing. • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking, with an independent and objective approach. • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. • Commitment to self-development and adaptability in a changing environment. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills • Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA or CAMS • Knowledge of risk metrics such as Value at Risk (VaR), Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL), and stress testing. • Understanding of emerging industry and regulatory changes impacting risk management. • Project management skills and strong relationship management capabilities. • Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and effectiveness under pressure. • Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to support client materials for clients based in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.
