About this role
We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to manage and support mission-critical enterprise Linux infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for Linux server administration, operating system upgrades, performance tuning, troubleshooting, automation, high-availability clustering, security compliance, and infrastructure support. Key Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Linux server environments, primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), across production, testing, and disaster recovery platforms. Perform Linux operating system installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities. Manage and support Linux-based infrastructure services including DNS, NTP, LVM (Logical Volume Manager), file systems, storage management, and system monitoring tools. Implement, configure, and maintain high-availability and clustering solutions to ensure system resilience and business continuity. Monitor server performance, conduct capacity planning, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning recommendations. Investigate and resolve complex Linux operating system issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive measures. Support incident, problem, and change management processes in accordance with ITIL best practices. Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual administrative tasks. Collaborate with infrastructure, network, database, middleware, and application teams to support production systems and project implementations. Review and approve infrastructure-related changes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and operational standards. Manage backup and recovery processes, system health monitoring, and disaster recovery readiness. Implement Linux security hardening, user access management, privilege controls, and vulnerability remediation activities. Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configuration standards. Support internal and external audits by providing infrastructure documentation, evidence, and compliance reports. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior system administrators and support teams. Mandatory Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration within enterprise-scale environments. • Strong experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in production environments. • Proven experience with Linux server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting. • Hands-on experience with Linux clustering and high-availability solutions such as Veritas Cluster Server, Pacemaker, Corosync, or equivalent technologies. • Strong knowledge of Linux performance tuning, system diagnostics, and capacity management. • Experience with Logical Volume Manager (LVM), file system administration, storage management, and server hardening. • Proficiency in Shell scripting (Bash/Korn Shell) for automation and operational support. • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, NTP, SSH, routing, and network troubleshooting. • Experience implementing Linux security controls, user access management, and vulnerability remediation. • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and alerting tools. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
