About this role
Responsibilities: • Review and underwrite new, renewal, and endorsement applications for individual and group international private medical insurance policies. • Manage complex cases from start to finish, including handling requests for additional information and escalations. • Conduct thorough assessments of medical histories, pre-existing conditions, and supporting documentation to facilitate informed risk decisions. • Analyse and interpret medical reports, test results, and physician statements to ensure accurate underwriting outcomes. • Maintain meticulous underwriting records and documentation while strictly complying with data protection regulations. • Meet turnaround time (TAT) targets to ensure timely responses and enhance customer satisfaction. • Collate and present monthly reports regarding completed cases, outstanding cases, TAT performance, and additional key metrics. • Support the handover process at the end of the contract. Requirements: • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in medical underwriting, preferably in international private medical insurance. • Proven capability to independently underwrite complex medical cases involving multiple conditions. • Strong track record of consistently achieving TAT targets in a production environment. • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, common diseases, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures. • Solid understanding of medical underwriting principles, risk assessment methods, and international health insurance products. • Familiarity with global healthcare systems and regional medical practices. • Proficient in internal underwriting systems and Microsoft Office applications. • Quick learner adept at building good working relationships within a team and contributing to team deliverables.
