Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced System Administrator to manage, maintain, and support enterprise IT infrastructure across AIX, Linux, VMware, AWS, and database environments. The role will involve server administration, cloud infrastructure support, virtualization management, system monitoring, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of infrastructure-related issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring system availability, security, performance, and reliability across on-premise and cloud environments. Key ResponsibilitiesManage and administer AIX and Linux servers, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, and maintenance. Support enterprise server environments running on IBM AIX, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and related platforms. Administer VMware ESXi and vCenter environments, including VM creation, cloning, templates, snapshots, vMotion, HA, and resource configuration. Perform daily server health checks, monitoring of CPU, memory, disk, network, and system performance. Troubleshoot server, operating system, network, hardware, and virtualization-related issues within agreed SLA timelines. Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, file systems, security settings, and access controls. Configure and manage LVM, NFS, Samba, LDAP, cron jobs, Apache, and other Linux/AIX services. Perform backup, restore, disaster recovery, root password recovery, boot issue troubleshooting, and disk replacement activities. Administer IBM Power Systems, including HMC, LPAR, DLPAR, VIO Server, SEA, MPIO, and NIM configuration. Support AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch, Route 53, EFS, security groups, Auto Scaling, and Load Balancers. Create and manage AWS accounts, IAM access, EC2 instances, storage volumes, snapshots, backups, and cloud monitoring alerts. Implement AWS security best practices using IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, AWS Shield, and related services. Support cloud migration, cost optimization, automation, and high-availability cloud infrastructure. Install, configure, and administer MySQL, MariaDB, Percona, PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB in Linux environments. Manage database users, schemas, backup jobs, replication, alerts, slow query settings, and database troubleshooting. Support SAN storage administration, including LUN creation, expansion, mapping to ESXi, and health monitoring. Use monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, Cacti, and LPAR2RRD to track infrastructure health and performance. Create scripts using Shell scripting, Bash, Korn shell, and Ansible playbooks to automate routine administration tasks. Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and support engineers for issue resolution, system maintenance, and infrastructure improvements. Job RequirementsDiploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in system administration, infrastructure support, or related IT operations role. Strong hands-on experience in AIX and Linux system administration. Experience with Linux distributions such as RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu. Good knowledge of VMware ESXi, vCenter, VM templates, cloning, snapshots, vMotion, and HA. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch, Route 53, EFS, Load Balancers, and Auto Scaling. Experience in server build, migration, upgrade, patching, monitoring, backup, and recovery. Knowledge of IBM Power Systems, including HMC, LPAR, DLPAR, VIO, SEA, MPIO, and NIM will be advantageous. Experience in MySQL, MariaDB, Percona, PostgreSQL, Redis, or MongoDB administration. Knowledge of SAN storage, LUN mapping, ESXi storage connectivity, and storage health monitoring. Familiar with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, Cacti, or LPAR2RRD. Able to troubleshoot hardware, OS, network, storage, database, cloud, and virtualization issues. Experience with automation tools such as Shell scripting and Ansible. Good understanding of IT security, access control, backup strategy, disaster recovery, and system performance tuning. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Professional certifications such as IBM Certified System p Administrator AIX, ITIL, AWS, Linux, or VMware certifications will be an advantage.
