POL Associate

Job PurposeThe Petroleum,Oil & Lubricants (POL) Associate is responsible for the safe receipt, storage, handling, testing, and dispensing of POL in support of ground operations at an airbase. He/She is to ensure uninterrupted fuelling operations while maintaining strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesFuel & Lubricant Operations • Conduct receipt, storage, and issue of fuels and/or lubricants • Perform refuelling operations in accordance with approved procedures • Operate hydrant systems, pumps, and dispensing equipment • Monitor fuel inventory levels and support stock reconciliation Testing & Quality Control • Conduct routine fuel quality checks, including water detection, contamination tests, and density checks Safety& Compliance • Strictly adhere to airbase safety regulations, fire safety requirements, and hazardous material handling procedures • Observe grounding, bonding, and spill prevention controls during POL operations • Report fuel spills, equipment defects, or safety hazards promptly • Participate in emergency response drills related to fire or fuel spills Equipment& Facility Maintenance • Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of POL equipment and facilities • Ensure fuel storage tanks, pipelines, valves, and filters are serviceable • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of POL areas Documentation & Reporting • Maintain accurate logs for fuel receipts, issues, and equipment inspections • Provide monthly report for fuel usage and balance • Update operational records in accordance with airbase, regulatory, and audit requirements • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance checks Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & Certification • Minimum: Secondary education or equivalent • POL-related certification or hazardous materials training preferred • Valid Driving license (Class 4 license is an advantage) Experience • Prior experience in fuel handling, aviation ground operations, logistics, or industrial operations is an advantage • Fresh candidates may be considered with relevant technical training Skills & Competencies • Strong awareness of safety and risk management • Ability to follow detailed procedures and checklists precisely • Physically fit to work outdoors and handle manual tasks • Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills • Team-oriented with good communication skills
