Research Associate (Organic Synthesis)

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) is a new interdisciplinary school at NTU. The school hosts world-class education and research programmes in organic and inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, and bioengineering. Prof Liu Xuewei’s group is looking for an individual who is talented scientifically and can work at the interface of organic synthesis, food chemistry, and antimicrobial research. The candidate can carry out unique research and publish high-quality research results, raising the profile and reputation of NTU. Key Responsibilities • Conduct various synthetic experiments on the research project. • Conduct independent research and publish in reputable academic journals. • Mentor junior PhD student and undergraduate students. Job requirement • Masters in chemistry or related qualification (graduated in the past 5 years) • Good writing and communication skills are required. • Good publication record is required. • Strong record in the areas of organic synthesis and antimicrobial research is required • At least 3 year’s experience in carbohydrate/peptide/protein synthesis and biological assays • Experience in writing research papers and communicating them to scientific journals.
