Senior System Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SystemsEngineer to manage and support enterprise-scale infrastructure and cloudoperations in a 24/7 production environment. The role involves administration,monitoring, optimization, and migration of hybrid IT systems across Windows,Linux, VMware, Nutanix, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strongexperience in systems operations, virtualization, incident management, andinfrastructure automation within large enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities 1. Infrastructure & Systems Operations Manage and support enterprise hybridinfrastructure (Windows/Linux/UNIX servers) Ensure high availability and performance of24/7 production systems Perform server administration including AD,DNS, DHCP, GPO, IIS, and system hardening Conduct routine maintenance, patching,upgrades, and system health checks 2. Virtualization & Cloud Administration Administer VMware vSphere/ESXi and Nutanix AHVenvironments Perform VM provisioning, migration, cloning,snapshots, and lifecycle management Support infrastructure migration projectsbetween VMware and Nutanix platforms Manage Microsoft Azure environments includingVM provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and cost optimization Configure Azuremonitoring, backup, IAM/RBAC, and hybrid connectivity (Azure ARC) 3. Monitoring, Incident & ProblemManagement Monitor infrastructure health using tools suchas SolarWinds, ManageEngine, and Control-M Handle alerts related to system performance,availability, and capacity issues Perform L1/L2 incident troubleshootingincluding log analysis and service recovery Lead incident response bridges and coordinateresolution with cross-functional teams Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) andimplement preventive actions 4. Automation & Scripting Develop automation scripts using PowerShell,batch scripting, and basic Python Automate repetitive operational tasks such asuser provisioning, log parsing, and service management Improve operational efficiency throughrunbooks and SOP automation 5. IT Operations & Governance Support ITIL-based processes includingincident, problem, and change management Maintain operational documentation, runbooks,and technical SOPs Ensure compliance with enterprise IT securityand operational standards Support scheduled maintenance windows anddeployment activities 6. Networking & Systems Support Perform basic network troubleshooting (VLAN,routing, firewall rules) Support Cisco switches, wireless controllers,and load balancers Conduct packet analysis and performancediagnostics when required Requirements ·        Minimum6+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure operations, or cloud administration ·        Experiencesupporting large-scale enterprise environments (500+ servers preferred) ·        Provenexperience in 24/7 production support environments Technical Skills Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022)administration Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) systemadministration VMware vSphere / ESXi (6.5 to 7.0) Nutanix AHV and Prism Central Microsoft Azure (VMs, monitoring, IAM, backup,automation) IT monitoring tools: SolarWinds, ManageEngine,Control-M Networking fundamentals (Cisco switches,VLANs, firewalls) Basic scripting (PowerShell required;Python/Bash preferred) Operational Skills Incident management and troubleshooting inenterprise environments Strong understanding of ITIL framework(Incident, Problem, Change Management) Experience in RCA and service improvementinitiatives Ability to work in shift-based or 24/7 supportenvironments Soft Skills Strong communication and stakeholdermanagement skills Ability to lead incident bridges andcoordinate across teams Analytical mindset with strong problem-solvingability Ability to work under pressure in criticalproduction environments Preferred / AddedAdvantage Certifications such as: Microsoft AzureAdministrator ITIL Foundation CCNA Nutanix CertifiedProfessional CompTIA CybersecurityAnalyst (CySA+) Experience in infrastructure migrationprojects (VMware → Nutanix or cloudmigration) Experience in enterprise hospitality, banking,or mission-critical environments
