Systems Operations Engineer - Contract

About the Role We are seeking a seasoned System Operations Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of our production systems — from Linux servers and Kubernetes clusters to distributed databases and big data platforms Key Responsibilities • Handle daily maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of servers and applications to ensure system stability and availability. • Manage and optimize Linux systems, including log analysis, performance tuning, and basic security hardening. • Maintain and operate databases including MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis — covering backups, replication, and query optimization. • Deploy, manage, and configure Kubernetes clusters and related resources to support containerized workloads. • Install and maintain Hadoop ecosystem components including HDFS, HBase, Hive, and YARN. • Deploy and maintain middleware services including Kafka, Elasticsearch, Zookeeper, and Nginx. . Write documentation and automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual toil. Requirements • 3+ years of experience in system operations, DevOps, or related roles. • Strong proficiency in Linux administration and basic networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls). • Hands-on experience maintaining MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis in production environments. • Proficient with Kubernetes — familiar with key resource objects (Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps) and cluster configuration. • Familiarity with maintaining Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, HBase, Hive, YARN). • Experience deploying and operating Kafka, Elasticsearch, Zookeeper, and Nginx. .
