Short Term Line Cook (Western Cuisine)

Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated Kitchen Cook / Line Cook to join our kitchen team at a neighbourhood BBQ Smokehouse and Steakhouse. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about cooking and eager to learn. You will assist in preparing and executing our signature smoked meats, BBQ dishes, and premium steaks while gaining hands-on experience in smoking, grilling, and Western kitchen operations. You will be required to work 4-4.5 days a week based on a weekly schedule. Key Responsibilities• Assist in the preparation and cooking of BBQ meats, sides, and steaks according to established recipes and standards • Support daily kitchen operations including ingredient preparation, sauces, marinades, and side dishes • Learn and assist in smoking, grilling, and meat preparation techniques • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times • Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met • Follow all food safety and hygiene standards • Assist with stock rotation, basic inventory management, and kitchen organisation • Work closely with team members to ensure smooth service during peak hours Requirements• Passion for cooking and willingness to learn Western cuisine • Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment • Comfortable handling knives and basic food preparation • Positive attitude and team player • Able to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays Candidates with experience in Western restaurants, cafés, steakhouses, or grill kitchens will have an advantage. Entry-level candidates are welcome. Training will be provided. Opportunity to learn American BBQ smoking techniques and steak preparation.
