Job Highlights• Role: Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineering Architect • Employment Type: 6‑Month Contract • Work Location:Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ2), Singapore 408533Punggol Digital DistrictGovernment Technology HubHybrid work arrangement • Salary: Up to SGD 8,860 per month • Eligibility: Singaporeans preferred Key ResponsibilitiesData Strategy & Architecture• Lead and implement data engineering strategies and architecture blueprints aligned with business and policy requirements • Evaluate and recommend data platforms and architecture solutions, including data storage and usage for AI and machine learning • Translate business data requirements into scalable technical designs and specifications Data Platform & Pipeline Engineering• Architect and build robust data ingestion pipelines to collect, clean, merge, and harmonise data from diverse sources • Design and implement secure, cloud‑based data infrastructure and access mechanisms • Monitor, optimise, and enhance ETL systems and databases for performance, reliability, and scalability • Implement and maintain batch and real‑time data pipelines Cloud, DevOps & Tooling• Work hands‑on with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP • Leverage distributed data technologies including Spark and Hadoop • Use orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or Azure Data Factory • Apply DevOps and Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices using Docker, Git, and Terraform • Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows Data Modelling, Governance & Compliance• Design reusable data models and maintain data catalogues with metadata and lineage (e.g. ER/Studio) • Collaborate with data stewards to enforce data governance, quality, security, and privacy controls • Ensure compliance with public‑sector data protection and cybersecurity requirements Agency Advisory & Technical Leadership• Guide agencies through greenfield and brownfield implementations, from problem discovery to solution design • Develop standardised assessment and solutioning approaches aligned with public‑sector best practices • Act as a trusted data architecture advisor to delivery teams • Champion modern engineering practices and mentor engineers to build future technical leaders ✅ Who We’re Looking ForQualifications• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines Experience• 5–10 years of experience in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering Technical Skills• Strong understanding of data system design, architecture modelling, data structures, and algorithms • Proficiency in Python and SQL • Hands‑on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Denodo, or similar data platforms • Experience implementing batch and streaming data pipelines • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code practices Skills & Attributes• Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy, especially in regulated environments • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • Able to work independently while collaborating across technical and business teams • Proactive, analytical, and motivated to deliver quality outcomes • Proven ability to mentor and guide other engineers How to ApplyApply via MyCareersFuture.
