(Lead) Research Engineer, Robotics & Autonomous Systems, I2R

Job DescriptionThe Robotics and Autonomous Systems Division at the Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR, Singapore, invites applications for a senior or lead research engineer position. We are seeking candidates with passion to conduct R&D and System Integration in Embodied AI with focus on Data Engine to scale and automate data collection, processing, ingest, discovery, augmentation and training for Robotic Foundation Model development, adaptation, and deployment. The successful candidate(s) job scope would include research and development of the data engine to automate the data collection and related processes including methods to augment the data to speed up data collection effort, developing the relevant tools to ensure high data quality automatically and support fast data search and retrieval as well as in the evaluation and testing of the developed models and robotic solutions. Job Requirements: • Bachelor or Masters in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science/Engineering, Machine Learning, or related fields. • Minimum of 5 years in relevant areas with strong background and research experience in Robotics, Data Engineering, Robotics Foundation Model, system integration and system engineering.  • Strong software development skills in C/C++, Python, PyTorch. • Good knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System), Linux and tools relevant to data engineering, data collection, cleaning and use in machine learning or Foundation Model development, training and inference. • Experience in integrating solution in an actual robotics system • Good communication and collaboration skills, proactive, taking ownership, passionate in robotics, and resourceful The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive.
