About this role
A Sensor Engineer designs, develops, tests, and integrates sensors—such as optical, inertial, or environmental—into hardware products, spanning from prototype to mass production. They are responsible for sensor selection, calibration, data analysis, and validating performance to meet requirements. Key skills include Electrical Engineering, Python/MATLAB, and signal processing. Key Responsibilities • Design & Development: Create sensor systems (e.g., magnetometer, temperature, pressure) and develop fabrication techniques for prototypes. • Validation & Testing: Execute test plans to validate sensor accuracy, reliability, and functionality, often using LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB. • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sensors into consumer electronics or industrial hardware. • Data Analysis & Modeling: Analyze sensor data to optimize performance and develop algorithms, often using tools like COMSOL or ANSYS. • Troubleshooting: Identify root causes of sensor failures during development and production. Required Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Materials Science, Physics, or related fields. • Experience: 2–8+ years in sensor development, product validation, or hardware-software integration. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++ for automation and data analysis; familiarity with potentiostats or oscilloscopes. • Knowledge: Understanding of analog design blocks (filters, PLLs, ADC/DAC) and sensor technologies. Preferred Skills • Experience with MEMS, wearable devices, or IoT technologies. • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
