Job Overview The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise cloud infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. The role provides technical leadership in cloud architecture, virtualization, infrastructure automation, security, and operational excellence. The incumbent will lead cloud transformation initiatives, ensure the availability and performance of enterprise platforms, and provide expert-level support for complex infrastructure environments. The role also involves mentoring engineers, driving best practices, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions aligned with business objectives. Key Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade cloud solutions across public, private, and hybrid environments • Optimize cloud resource utilization, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency - Implement cloud security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks - Provide Level 3 and escalation support for complex cloud infrastructure issues • Architect and manage VMware vSphere environments including ESXi, vCenter, and distributed switches - Administer and troubleshoot VMware and Nutanix hypervisor platforms - Manage virtual machine provisioning, migration, upgrades, and decommissioning • Perform advanced troubleshooting of virtualization and cloud infrastructure issues - Optimize virtual machine performance and resource allocation • Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions • Lead capacity planning and infrastructure scaling initiatives - Provide expert-level support for Windows Server environments • Install, configure, and manage Windows Server services including IIS and SQL Server - Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management solutions • Implement security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and patch management strategies - Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud and on-premises environments - Monitor system health, availability, and performance across enterprise platforms • Implement proactive measures to improve system reliability and operational efficiency • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions - Manage incidents, problems, and changes in accordance with ITSM processes • Ensure adherence to service-level agreements and operational standards - Participate in on-call support rotation for critical cloud services • Plan and implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies - Ensure high availability and continuous business operations • Gather business and application requirements and perform cloud infrastructure design and analysis - Lead the design, testing, and implementation of cloud solutions aligned with technical specifications - Participate in cloud architecture reviews and technical design discussions • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption strategies - Lead cloud transformation and infrastructure modernization initiatives • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated enterprise solutions - Provide technical consultation and advisory services to stakeholders and project teams - Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and cloud configurations • Establish and enforce cloud governance, security standards, and best practices - Provide regular reporting on cloud health, performance, utilization, risks, and project status - Lead cloud migration, optimization, and platform enhancement projects • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across cloud initiatives - Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across cloud platforms - Deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions aligned with organizational objectives Qualifications • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in cloud and infrastructure engineering • Experience designing and managing enterprise cloud environments • Strong knowledge of public, private, and hybrid cloud architectures - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services • Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and distributed switches • Experience administering Nutanix hypervisor platforms • Strong Windows Server administration experience • Experience managing IIS and Microsoft SQL Server environments • Proficiency in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management solutions - Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation technologies • Knowledge of cloud security, governance, and compliance frameworks • Experience implementing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions - Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Experience supporting enterprise-scale production environments • Experience working with ITSM and change management processes - Experience leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives • Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and platform services • Experience supporting large-scale hybrid cloud environments - Familiarity with cloud monitoring and observability platforms - Experience in cloud cost optimization and governance • Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills • Proven ability to mentor and coach junior engineers • Experience participating in enterprise architecture reviews - Ability to lead technical discussions and infrastructure planning activities • Strong documentation and technical writing skills • Experience working within multi-vendor enterprise environments - Experience with cloud automation and orchestration technologies • Knowledge of enterprise backup and recovery solutions - Familiarity with infrastructure security and compliance requirements • Experience implementing high-availability and resilient cloud architectures - Certified: • Azure Administrator Associate - AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate • Understanding of enterprise infrastructure governance frameworks -
