Role: Network Engineer Location: LAVENDAR/KALLANG Standby: Required Type of Role: Contract (JULY 2026 - MARCH 2027) [RENEWABLE] Remuneration: Base Salary - $5,100 Renumeration: 1 month bonus upon completion of contract (subjected to attendance, performance etc..) START: JULY 2026 Project Overview: This Scope of Work outlines the responsibilities, deliverables, and expectations for the Network Engineer in supporting the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of the organisation’s network infrastructure. The objective is to ensure a secure, reliable, and high-performing network environment aligned with business requirements. Objectives: • Implement scalable and secure network solutions. • Ensure network availability, performance, and reliability. • Support business operations through stable connectivity. • Strengthen cybersecurity posture across network infrastructure. • Provide timely troubleshooting and incident resolution. Scope of Services: Network Design & Implementation • Implement LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud networking solutions. • Configure network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers) • Implement network segmentation (VLANs, subnets, VPNs) • Support deployment of SD-WAN and hybrid cloud networking (if applicable) • Develop network architecture diagrams and documentation. Network Operations & Maintenance • Monitor network performance, uptime, and utilisation. • Perform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and patching. • Manage IP addressing schemes (DHCP, DNS, IPAM) • Ensure redundancy and failover mechanisms are functional. • Maintain configuration backups. Security & Compliance • Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network access controls. • Implement secure remote access (VPN, Zero Trust models) • Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation. • Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory standards. • Monitor logs and investigate potential security incidents. Troubleshooting & Support • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues. • Provide support for network-related incidents. • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend improvements. • Collaborate with application, system, and security teams. Network Optimisation • Analyse performance metrics and recommend improvements. • Optimise bandwidth usage and QoS policies. • Plan and execute network upgrades or expansions. • Support capacity planning and forecasting. Documentation & Reporting • Maintain up-to-date network diagrams and inventory. • Document configurations, procedures, and changes. • Produce periodic performance and incident reports. • Update knowledge base and operational runbooks. Deliverables • Network design and architecture documents. • Configuration files and deployment records. • Network monitoring and performance reports. • Incident reports and RCA documentation. • Security compliance and audit documentation. Roles & Responsibilities: Network Engineer • Execute all activities defined in this SOW. • Ensure adherence to best practices and standards. • Provide technical expertise and recommendations. Client/Organisation • Provide required access, tools, and documentation. • Approve changes and design proposals. • Ensure stakeholder coordination. Tools & Technologies • Network devices: Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, etc. • Monitoring tools: SolarWinds, eG, etc. • Security tools: Firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS. • Cloud platforms: Vmare, Nutanix. Service Levels (Optional) • Incident response time (e.g., P1: 1 hour, P2: 4 hours) • Network uptime target (e.g., 99.9% availability) • Change implementation windows. Timeline • Project initiation. • Design phase. • Implementation phase. • Testing & validation. • Handover and support (To be defined based on project requirements) Assumptions & Dependencies • Network infrastructure and hardware availability. • Required approvals and stakeholder inputs. • Access to monitoring and management tools. Acceptance Criteria • Successful network deployment and testing. • Compliance with design and security standards. • Stakeholder sign-off on deliverables. Change Management • All changes to scope, timeline, or deliverables must be formally reviewed, approved, and documented through the change management process. Requirements: • Minimum ITE/Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant disciplines. • Minimum 2 years’ experience in supporting the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of the organisation’s network infrastructure. • Applicants' in possession of Cisco CCNA certification only will be entertained.
