About this role
Overview We are seeking a Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Coordinator to support the implementation of workplace safety programmes and ensure compliance with organisational safety policies and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will assist in conducting workplace inspections, promoting safe work practices, and supporting accident prevention initiatives to maintain a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities • Support the implementation and maintenance of workplace safety and health policies, procedures, and programmes. • Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and identify potential hazards and unsafe work practices. • Assist in hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementation of appropriate control measures. • Monitor compliance with workplace safety procedures and recommend corrective actions where necessary. • Support accident prevention initiatives through safety campaigns, toolbox meetings, and employee awareness programmes. • Assist in investigating workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and support follow-up corrective actions. • Maintain workplace safety records, inspection reports, incident logs, and regulatory documentation. • Support internal safety audits and external regulatory inspections. • Coordinate safety training programmes and ensure employees and contractors comply with workplace safety requirements. • Work closely with operational teams, contractors, and management to promote a positive safety culture across the organisation. Requirements • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Workplace Safety & Health, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related discipline. • Demonstrated experience supporting workplace safety management and implementation of safety procedures. • Experience conducting workplace inspections and hazard identification activities. • Knowledge of workplace risk assessment methodologies and accident prevention programmes. • Familiarity with workplace safety legislation and regulatory compliance requirements. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with operational teams and contractors. • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) or Workplace Safety & Health Coordinator certification would be advantageous. • Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, facilities management, transportation, or critical infrastructure environments. • Familiarity with ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems. • Experience supporting safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
