Contract Period: From 29 June 2026to 31 December 2026 with an option to extend the contract for a further period from 1 Jan 2027 to 30 Oct 2027. Working hours: Morning Shift (Additional Requirement) · Tuesday: 10.00am to 12.30pm (2.5 hours) · Wednesday: 10.00am to 12.30pm (2.5 hours) · Thursday: 10.00am to 12.30pm (2.5 hours) · Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazette public and school holidays, except for the dates specified below where applicable. Afternoon Shift (Firm Requirement) · Monday: 2.00pm to 5.00pm (3 hours) · Tuesday: 2.00pm to 5.00pm (3 hours) · Wednesday: 2.00pm to 5.00pm (3 hours) · Thursday: 2.00pm to 5.00pm (3 hours) · Friday: 12.00pm to 3.00pm (3 hours) · Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazette public and school holidays, except for the dates specified below where applicable. Scope of Services: Canopy Management and Engagement 1. Work closely with Gear Up Committee teachers to ensure the smooth running of Canopy, including establishing a system to track and ensure accountability for the loaning and return of games and items by students. 2. Maintain firmness and uphold ground rules while remaining approachable and professional in interactions with students. 3. Engage and build positive relationships with students during stipulated Canopy hours and when running Canopy programmes. Programme Planning and Implementation 4. Collaborate with Gear Up Committee teachers to plan and implement programmes and workshops catering to the needs of smaller, targeted groups of students who need greater after-school supervision. 5. Equip students with socio-emotional skills through Canopy programmes. 6. Foster a sense of school connectedness and sense of belonging to the school, by utilising the affordances of the Canopy to build positive relationships with and among students. 7. Provide support as an additional staff member for Learning Journeys or Excursions for students identified for Canopy programmes. School Collaboration and Communication 8. Provide relevant feedback and progress of students to school personnel. 9. Provide support and consultation to schoolteachers on students' needs and challenges. 10. Provide administrative support to schoolteachers on matters relating to Canopy programmes and students where needed. Student Needs Assessment and Support 11. Observe and identify key needs of targeted students. 12. Utilise identification and screening tools to assess targeted student's needs, when required. 13. Discuss needs and intervention plans of identified targeted students with relevant school personnel (e.g. student management team personnel and school leaders). Qualifications, skills, qualities, and experience: 1. Qualifications: (a) Preferably possess at least a diploma in social work or in a related discipline(or have equivalent experience/qualifications in youth work) and 2. Skill & Experience: (a) Preferably have at least 1 year of social work experience, possess skills related to rapport building, effective interpersonal interactions, problem-solving and programme planning and implementation. (b) Experience in designing, planning and facilitating group programmes for students. (c) Competent in working with school staff, community and stakeholders. (d) Preferably bilingual.
