About this role
The Role The Database Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible forthe administration, monitoring, maintenance, and operational support ofenterprise database and infrastructure environments. The role includes databaseadministration, backup and recovery management, performance monitoring, patchmanagement, vulnerability remediation, infrastructure support, and operationalreporting to ensure the availability, security, and performance ofbusiness-critical systems. The successful candidate will support database platformsacross on-premises and cloud environments while contributing to serviceimprovements, operational excellence, and compliance with established standardsand procedures. Responsibilities • Administerand support enterprise database platforms including Oracle, Microsoft SQLServer, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB. • Performdatabase monitoring, performance tuning, health checks, and capacity managementactivities. • Managedatabase backup, recovery, restoration testing, and disaster recoveryreadiness. • Performdatabase patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and security hardeningactivities. • Supportdatabase high availability and disaster recovery solutions. • Monitordatabase and infrastructure performance and investigate system anomalies. • Supportcloud-hosted database environments and related infrastructure components. • Performuser access administration, database security reviews, and audit activities. • Participatein incident, problem, change, and release management processes. • Conductroot cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for recurringissues. • Maintainoperational documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and technical reports. • Collaboratewith infrastructure, application, security, and operations teams to supportbusiness-critical systems. • Supportautomation initiatives using scripting and infrastructure management toolswhere applicable. Requirements • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology,Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience indatabase administration and infrastructure support. • Strong experience supporting Oracle Database andMicrosoft SQL Server environments. • Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, orother enterprise database platforms. • Experience in database backup, recovery,patching, and performance tuning. • Experience supporting high availability anddisaster recovery solutions. • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operatingsystems. • Experience in database monitoring,troubleshooting, and operational support. • Knowledge of database security, accessmanagement, and vulnerability remediation practices. PreferredSkills • Experience supporting AWS RDS, Azure SQL, orcloud-hosted database platforms. • Experience with automation and scripting usingPowerShell, Shell Scripting, Python, or equivalent. • Knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD, or infrastructureautomation tools. • Experience supporting enterprise or governmentenvironments. • Oracle, Microsoft, AWS, or cloud-relatedcertifications.
