About this role
The Senior System Engineer will be responsible for theadministration, monitoring, maintenance, and operational support of the server,storage, backup, and infrastructure environment. The role includes systemmonitoring, vulnerability management, patch management, backup administration,access reviews, infrastructure upgrades, and operational reporting to ensurethe availability, security, and performance of the IT environment. Responsibilities • Monitorand maintain server, storage, and backup infrastructure to ensure systemavailability and performance. • Performsystem administration, patch management, vulnerability remediation, andsecurity updates. • ManageWindows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, and user accessadministration. • Monitorsystem logs, investigate incidents, and perform troubleshooting and issueresolution. • Supportsoftware and hardware deployment, upgrades, and infrastructure maintenanceactivities. • Performbackup administration, restoration testing, and storage capacity monitoring. • Maintaintechnical documentation, SOPs, and operational reports. • Participatein incident, problem, and change management activities. • Providerecommendations for service improvements and infrastructure optimization. Requirements • Higher Nitec, Diploma or Degree in InformationTechnology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. • Minimum 5 years of experience in systemadministration, infrastructure support, or managed services environments. • Hands-on experience with Windows Server, ActiveDirectory, DNS, and user access management. • Experience in patch management, vulnerabilitymanagement, and system hardening. • Familiarity with enterprise backup solutionssuch as Veeam, NetBackup, Commvault, or equivalent. • Experience with infrastructure monitoring andreporting tools. • Knowledge of VMware virtualization technologieswill be an advantage. • ITIL certification will be an advantage. • Experience supporting enterprise or governmentenvironments will be an advantage.
