CONTRACT JOBS!1Year Contract (with possibility of extension)Discipline Support Officer (DSO)SINGAPOREANS/PRs ONLY ($24000.00-$3000.00) Commitment Period: 29th Jun 2026 to 30thOct 2026 LOCATION ISLANDWIDE JOB SUMMARY The appointed Discipline Support Officer (DSO) shall work closely with the staff members of the school to complement and support the Student Management (SM)team in strengthening school discipline and support student development through student engagement. JOB DESCRIPTION 1. Campus Supervision & Discipline Prevention • Serve as a visible adult presence in high-movement areas and conduct systematic patrols during recess, lunch breaks, and lesson transitions. • Maintain supervisory presence in the canteen and Indoor Sports Hall during daily recess periods. • Support proactive discipline strategies and assist in simple peer reconciliation or mediation (where appropriate). 2. Late coming monitoring • Collect mobile phones and record latecomers arriving after8am (Tuesdays to Fridays) or 9am (Mondays). • Manage latecomers data and Detention list. 3. In-House Suspension Support • Help establish a structured environment for suspended students to support learning continuity during suspension. • Guide students through structured reflective activities and support their transition back into the classroom environment. 4. Investigative & Case Support • Assist in conducting preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews. • Obtain student and witness statements where appropriate. • Compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports to relevant Key Personnel for directions. 5. Detention & Restorative Follow-Up • Supervise detention sessions, including maintaining attendance and behavioural records. • Coordinate reflection and restorative activities with Student Management Committee members. • Facilitate student reflection on choices, consequences and improvement strategies, ensuring that detention tasks are meaningful and developmental in nature. 6. Data Management • Collate and manage discipline-related data, including late coming records, discipline statements, and other relevant documentation. 7. Deployment & Reporting • The DSO will report operationally to the Student Management Committee. • The deployment schedule will be determined by the school in accordance with the termly school timetable and school events 8. Performance Expectations The DSO is expected to: • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion and good judgement. • Engage students respectfully and constructively. • Uphold confidentiality and procedural fairness. • Collaborate effectively with teachers and SM personnel. JOBREQUIREMENTS • Working Experience • The Personnel should ideally have prior working experience in a uniformed service background (e.g. Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prison Service, or equivalent), preferably with more than 10 years of experience, and with involvement in youth-related case investigation, behavioural support, and restorative work. 2. Core Competencies • The Personnel should possess the following competencies: • Conflict management, de-escalation, and calm andproportionate behavioural intervention • Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Accurate incident observation, documentation, and record management • Proficiency in basic data entry and management, including organising and updating simple Excel spreadsheets 3. Engagement Disposition and Professional Conduct • The Personnel should demonstrate a firm yet respectful approach when working with students, with the ability to build rapport while upholding expectations. • Cultural sensitivity and awareness of the school environment are important, as is a collaborative working style with teachers and Student Management staff. • The Personnel is expected to uphold confidentiality, procedural fairness, and professional conduct in all interactions with students and staff. 4. Values & Professional Ethics • The Personnel should be aligned with a care-based and restorative approach to discipline, with a genuine belief in student growth and developmental support. • The Personnel should demonstrate empathy and compassion in youth work, alongside professional maturity, reliability, and respect for student dignity. WORKING HOURS • Mondays to Fridays: 8am to 5pm, inclusive of 1hour lunch break (8 working hours, excluding 1 hour lunch break) • Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazette public and school holidays, except for the dates specified below where applicable.
