About this role
YOUR NEW JOBAs a Network Service Engineer, you'll support a large-scale government network environment, ensuring the availability, performance, security, and compliance of critical infrastructure. You'll be involved in network operations, incident resolution, security management, patching, and infrastructure lifecycle activities. This is a 12-month contract role (renewable), supporting a new long-term government project . Work will be onsite, Mon – Fri office hours. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance • Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents, outages, and performance issues • Perform root cause analysis and support SLA-driven incident management • Manage routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers across the environment • Support firewall policy reviews, security monitoring, and compliance activities • Execute patching, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle upgrades • Support change management, release activities, and rollback planning • Maintain network documentation, SOPs, CMDB records, and operational reports • Perform capacity monitoring, trend analysis, and infrastructure health checks • Participate in standby support and after-hours maintenance when required WHAT IS NEEDED FROM YOU• 2–6 years of experience in network engineering, network operations, or infrastructure support • Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies • Experience supporting enterprise routers, switches, and firewalls • Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident management, and change management • Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support • Eligibility for government security clearance • Open to occasional overtime WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT• Experience with Palo Alto, Check Point, or F5 technologies • Exposure to government, public sector, or highly regulated environments • Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, or equivalent • Experience supporting large-scale managed services environments • Familiarity with vulnerability management and security compliance frameworks
