The OpportunityWe're looking for a Project Engineer on a 2-year contract to drive packaging and process engineering projects — from capital equipment acquisition and validation through to material changes, supplier qualification, and cost improvement initiatives. You'll work cross-functionally to ensure product integrity and operational efficiency across the value stream. What You'll Do• Assist in capital equipment acquisition, installation, commissioning, and validation of packaging and process equipment • Execute packaging-related projects — material changes, supplier qualification, supplier transfers, and cost improvement (CTW) initiatives • Develop and manage project documentation including change control, risk assessments, and validation activities • Support packaging validation, testing, and qualification to ensure product integrity during handling, storage, and distribution • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and suppliers on packaging process development, improvements, and issue resolution • Provide engineering support for maintenance, modifications, and continuous improvement within the value stream • Ensure all activities comply with quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (ISO and FDA standards) • Maintain effective cross-functional communication to ensure alignment on deliverables and timelines What You'll BringQualifications: • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline • Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in medical devices and/or pharmaceuticals • Experience in packaging validation, material qualification, or supplier transfer — an advantage Skills: • Basic project management and problem-solving skills • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers • Good written and verbal communication skills • Adaptable and quick to learn in a changing business environment • Hands-on experience in packaging processes (blister packaging, dispenser boxes, shipper packaging) — an advantage Accountabilities: • Safety, Quality, Service, and Delivery performance aligned with plant and value stream objectives • Contribution to project execution, CI initiatives, and cost-saving targets Why BD?• Purpose-Driven — Every project you deliver ensures life-saving medical devices reach patients safely • Career Growth — Development programmes and internal mobility across 190+ countries • Award-Winning Culture — Recognised as a Great Place to Work® in Singapore Ready to make a difference?
