Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration, and delivery of electrical systems for vessel construction and marine engineering projects. This role will be responsible forensuring compliance with technical specifications, marine regulations, andindustry standards while supporting system design, testing, and commissioningactivities. The ideal candidate should possess strong experience in shipbuilding, marine power systems, vessel automation, and electrical system integration. Key Responsibilities Electrical Engineering & Design • Develop and review electrical engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, cable termination drawings, and testing documentation. • Perform electrical load calculations and support the design of vessel power generation and distribution systems. • Prepare engineering documentation and technical submissions in accordance with project and regulatory requirements. • Support sizing and selection of switchboards, circuit breakers, motor starters, variable frequency drives, and related electrical equipment. Technical Review & Compliance • Review project specifications and ensure compliance with classification society rules and marine industry standards. • Evaluate technical comments and provide engineering solutions to address design and compliance requirements. • Support short-circuits studies, system verification activities, and electrical testing procedures. • Ensure compliance with marine, offshore, and oil & gas electrical standards where applicable. System Integration & Project Support • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful integration of vessel systems. • Support integration of power management systems, propulsion systems, Integrated Automation Systems (IAS), alarm monitoring, fire protection, navigation, communication, and other onboard systems. • Participate in engineering reviews, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities throughout the project lifecycle. • Support compliance activities related to dynamic positioning requirements, FMEA studies, and harmonic distortion assessments. Stakeholder Management • Work closely with clients, classification societies, vendors, and internal project teams to resolve technical issues and support project delivery. • Participate in technical discussions and provide engineering expertise during project execution. Requirements • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Marine Engineering or a related discipline. • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, shipyard operations, marine engineering, or offshore projects. • Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, power distribution, automation, and vessel electrical design. • Experience working with power management systems, Integrated Automation Systems (IAS), and marine electrical equipment. • Proficient in AutoCAD and engineering documentation preparation. • Good understanding of shipbuilding processes, classification requirements, and marine industry standards. • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. • Able to work closely with customers and discuss technical solutions effectively. • Willing to be based full-time in Batam, Indonesia.
